Your group stay in Braga
In the north of Portugal, Braga is probably less well known than Porto or Lisbon. However, this small, lively university town deserves to be discovered for more than one reason. Your group will do this during your group stay in Braga. While Braga has a small airport with a few international lines, Porto airport, only 40 minutes away, is often a good alternative. The latter offers many more direct flights from major European cities. Compared to other European countries, life in Portugal is relatively cheap. In Braga you will find hotels at low prices for your group.
Sometimes called "Portuguese Rome" because of its many churches, Braga is home to the oldest cathedral in the country. Its old town is an invitation to stroll among the Roman remains and baroque palaces. Your group will fall under the spell of this small town with over 2000 years of history. This does not prevent it from being the youngest city in Portugal. To appreciate its dynamism, take your group to La Brasileira, Braga's emblematic brasserie where you can watch life on Avenida Central. There are many visits to Braga with the Roman baths, the keep of the old castle or the arcades of Lapa. And if you want a little peace and quiet, you can take your group to the garden of Sainte Barbara, a very pretty public garden in the heart of the city of Braga.
