With 4 to 5 million pilgrims coming every year, Czestochowa has a large hotel park with hotels to accommodate your group. You will find top-of-the-range hotels, but also cheap hotels for groups.
Czestochowa is famous throughout the world for its Black Madonna and the monastery of Jasna Gora where it is preserved. This fortified monastery was built by the monks of the Order of St. Paul at the end of the 14th century. Inside this monastery, a chapel houses a Black Virgin, covered with a silver veil. Legend has it that it is the work of Saint Luke, the evangelist. Although historians now date its creation to around the 13th century, its place in Christianity has not diminished and Poles attribute miracles to it, particularly during the Swedish invasion in the 17th century. In addition to the Black Virgin, for whom millions of pilgrims travel every year, your group can visit the monastery with the fortified walls of Jasna Gora and the basilica of St. Anthony during your group stay in Czestochowa.
