Your group trip in Vilnius
Vilnius remains a confidential, secret city. Released from the Soviet bloc later than other Eastern European cities, Vilnius never experienced the tourist craze of Prague, Krakow or Budapest. It's unfortunate, but maybe there is an auspicious flip side. Indeed, the city has been able to preserve its authenticity and a low cost of living compared with other European capitals. For your sports club trip it will be easy to find a hotel for groups at low prices, especially on Groupcorner where we have selected for you all the best properties for groups in Vilnius. To get your group to Vilnius, the simplest is to fly. Vilnius has an international airport, but direct flights are quite rare from major European cities. A stopover should probably be expected. Train or coach are other possible solutions if you come from Eastern Europe.
Less well known than other capitals in Eastern Europe, Vilnius is home to the largest historic center in Eastern Europe. This old city is a network of winding streets that reveal churches in small courtyards. No doubt the members of your group will enjoy wandering and discovering the medieval and Baroque treasures of Vilnius. There are traces of many different cultures that influenced Lithuania: Poland, Germany and Russia. The new city, marked by years of Soviet domination does not have the same charm. History buffs among members of your group will undoubtedly enjoy diving into the “black hours” of Lithuania at the Lithuanian People's Genocide Museum, which looks back on the crimes of the Gestapo and the KGB. Not very cheerful, but interesting and powerful.
