Our travel notes
Traveling to London
It is quite easy to travel to Amsterdam with a group. The capital of the Netherlands is located in the midst of the European megalopolis, therefore benefiting from the dense transportation network of Benelux. All roads are open, no matter if you prefer to fly, to take the train or to drive!
Amsterdam Schiphol Airport is located roughly 20 kms South-West of the city. As it is the city's biggest airport and the 4th largest in Europe, it is quite easy to find a flight to Amsterdam! From the airport, you can reach the centre by train, the fastest and cheapest solution (3,20 €) compared to roughly 40 € by cab; but you can also take the bus.
Taking the train is obviously a very good alternative. Thalys lines allow you to reach Brussels and Amsterdam from Pais in just a few hours (3h15 for the fastest trips) and you arrive straight to the heart of the city.
Hotels of all standards for all kinds of groups
The city centre is curling up inside a series of concentric canals. This ancient part of town encompasses many tourists favorites, such as the Royal Palace, the Dam square or the fiendish "Red district". Farther from the centre, you will find the Canal Ring (Herengracht, Keizersgracht, Prinsengracht, Canal Singel) with its flower market, its cafés, its many-colored houses and its design shops. The South-West is home to the museums (Van Gogh, Rijksmuseum…), while the Western part harbors the Jordaan district, a former working-class district now displaying galleries, original shops and bars. In the South, Vondelpark is the city's biggest park and is much-appreciated for its peace and quiet. Zuidas is the new business centre, also located in the South. Groupcorner offers you the right accommodation in Amsterdam, whatever your budget.
