About the Hostel and Rooms
Our hostel features spacious, decent and comfortable rooms inside a beautiful, unique, more than one hundred- year-old building – once the property of the Zwack Unicum factory, a true Hungarian specialty. We also offer rooms in a nearby, more modern and better equipped building – please note however that at this area does not offer a separate reception service, nevertheless your safe magnetic-chip based key allows you entrance at any time of the day.
The Hostel is a stone’s throw away from the wonderful Danube river with a lovely promenade running along the bank, which leads right to Boráros Square, a central connection point of public transport, with the stop of the newly introduced regular boat sailing along the river presenting the view of the major sights and also stops of major tram lines (4, 6 and 2) that take you virtually any part of the city in just a few minutes.

There is ample space created especially for chit-chats and friendly conversations – we have common kitchens on each floor and also a sunny terrace with view over a nice peaceful green area that provide great possibilities to make friends with your fellow travellers.
Nearby possibilities to discover Budapest
Nevertheless, if you’re after a wild party, you are also in the best place: just across the river very close, the unique A38-ship, a crazy floating bar regularly offers great programs. A few streets away you find a newly built, modern concert place with various stages offering a great range of choice from electronic music to pop music with 5 different music stages to choose from, the Budapest Park. Further adventures await you at the former slaughterhouse of the city, the semi-hidden R33 that hosts studios for local bands and a surreal bar resembling the mixture of a baroque ball room and a cheap suburban working class’ pub. (For details, please ask the receptionists.)
If you are looking for cultural adventures our prestigious contemporary art museum (Ludwig Museum) is right in our backyard, next to which you’ll find the Palace of Arts, an example of great modern Hungarian architecture and also the impressive newly built Hungarian National Theatre. Some streets away you can visit the Trafó House of Contemporary Arts, another artistic center of interest.
For those with a true historical interest of Hungary’s darker past – a past where specific groups were deprived of the very rights of what makes a man a man – the Holocaust Memorial Center brings a heart-striking presentation that adds a personal touch to dry facts of history, presenting personal stories of the suffering and desperate fight for survival of real families.
