LA CHATELLERAIE
Set in 20 acres of grounds, La Châtelleraie is a charming 16th century castle on the outskirts of the small market town of St Etienne de Maurs.
Maurs is situated in the Cantal region of France, close to the borders of the Aveyron and the Lot. These regions are some of the most unspoilt areas of outstanding natural beauty in France, from the dramatic gorges of the Lot and Truyere, to the volcanic peaks of the Massif Central and the ancient woodland of La Chataignerie.
La Châtelleraie is perfect for family or group holidays with both an indoor and outdoor swimming pool. Additionally the Chateau can be made available for exclusice hire for seminars, specialist group holidays (walkers/hikers, motorcycle tours, cyclists, classic cars) weddings and special events.
ACCOMODATION
La Châtelleraie offers fantastic hotel accommodation for up to 60 people, in 3 distinct buildings. The majority of the rooms accommodate 2 people although we also have a small number of triple rooms and family rooms capable of sleeping up to 4. All rooms are tastefully decorated and furnished and have en suite bathrooms.
The Chateau: The château tower houses the authentic spiral stone staircase and 5 en suite bedrooms, spread over 3 floors. The bridal suite is also located in the main tower and comes complete with private balcony.
La Grange Rouge: The ground floor comprises 1 en suite double bedroom 5 en suite triple bedrooms all with private terraces.
The Pavilion: 14 en suite twin/double all with private terrace, 2 of these have disabled access and bathrooms.
Self catering cottages
Self catering accommodation is available in 2 cottages located within the hotel grounds. These are ideal for those wanting to take advantage of the hotel facilities but who would like a little more independence.

You are certainly spoilt for choice with the range of places to visit in close proximity to La Châtelleraie. These include medieval towns and cities, historic sites, gastronomic visits as well as a wealth of spectacular natural features. Here is a list of some of the highlights.
Figeac - stunning medieval town dating back to the 9th century, nestling on the banks of the river Célé. Classified as a Town of Art and History'.
Gouffres de Padirac - one of, if not, the most impressive set of underground caves in France.
Rocamadour - an astonishing medieval village perched on limestone cliffs nearly 500 ft. above the Alzou canyon. Understandably the 2nd most visited site in France.
Grottes du peche Merle - Superb, world famous prehistoric caves, with over 300 paintings dating back 20,000 years.
Conques well deserved status of one of the most beautiful villages in France'. The 10th century Abbey has also been classified as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Cirq Lapopie spectacular fortified village perched 100m above the river Lot, set in the Parc Naturel des Causses de Quercy'.
Cahors bustling medieval town, well known for its fortified bridge, gardens and wine.

Due to the varied and dramatic landscape, the region lends itself perfectly to numerous outdoor activities and pursuits. Whether you enjoy a gentle stroll in countryside or some adrenalin pumping white water rafting, you are bound to find an activity to suit you.
