IRELAND'S GREEN NEST
The Gyreum eco-lodge was built by 50 year-old Dubliner Colum Stapleton twelve years ago. It’s been described as ‘a wooden UFO that landed on the rural hillside’, a ‘Christmas pudding’ and a ‘pastiche of the 5000 year-old cairns that dot the hills of Southern Sligo’.
Our goal has been to achieve zero effluent discharge. To that end we have through our own and broader EU hands on workshops created perfect means of effluent remediation with key willow, rush species & more recently we are the national test zone for ribbit.ie brilliant Splitter’s solution for water treatment.
We seek between NOW until December 2020 VET groups for 2 occasionally 3 week periods of work experience, a mix of tough physical work and lots of learning. Our focus is on propagation of medicinal herbs, our goal is primarily propagation but of equal importance is to put science to the myriad unknowns that surround herbal variables.
