Edinburgh hotel which occupies three Georgian townhouses in a super-convenient
location in the heart of Edinburgh's New Town.

The
Howard 5 star Hotel is classically elegant both outside and in, and has just 19
luxury rooms and suites, named after Edinburgh streets.

In
keeping with the character of the building, we have used rich fabrics, oil
paintings and opulent furnishings to make our luxury Edinburgh hotel deeply

The Atholl
started life as a private dining room for guests staying at the hotel. Its
elegant, flower-filled Georgian setting, intimate atmosphere, fine wine list
and expertly prepared modern Scottish menu drew an enthusiastic and
knowledgeable local clientele as well, so the Atholl has gradually evolved into a much
sought-after restaurant in Edinburgh. The Atholl only seats 14 people at a time, so be
sure to reserve in advance.

The Atholl
restaurant is open daily for lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. We also
offer private dining.

As an
alternative, if you are staying at The Howard, you can order from the 24-hour
room service menu, or from the lunch or dinner menus during service times. Lunch
and dinner can be served by private butler, in the comfort of your own room or
suite.

Invented
by the seventh Duchess of Bedford to curb her hunger pangs between breakfast
and dinner back in the 1800’s, afternoon tea has become quite the thing to do
when enjoying a leisurely hour or two with your friends and loved ones. Enjoy
the famous Howard afternoon tea served by our friendly team of butlers in our
elegant dining rooms from 2pm -5pm daily.
